And then there were two.

This just in. Joe is a happy camper this week.

I've recently begun communicating with a female nerd via webs and texting. She picked me out of a lineup and unbeknownst to either of us our daughters are in the same class. As a strong believer in fate I could not ignore this fact and have been dedicating myself to getting to know her.

I won't bore you with the details but as a pair of divorced folk we are taking things slow one step at a time. I have a really good feeling about this one.  So keep your proverbial fingers crossed and throw up a prayer if you'd like while you are at it.

Thanks for your interest.

Until next time this is J Andrew K signing off.

Frosty Nuggets.

Hello and welcome to yet another edition of Joe's blog.

Been playing a lot of video games lately so you will have to forgive me for not updating on a regular basis.

My son is still getting himself into trouble, but at least now its for his jokery and not violence. He's a class clown and I know it's something we will have to be dealing with all the way through. He's got his dad's sense of humor but he's not shy like I was. His real problem is he actually is funny, so he will get a genuine laugh and then he doesn't know when to stop.
Unbeknownst to most he is also learning a lot at school. I take them to the library to get books and he usually just wants to look at pictures or make up stories as he turns pages but he's getting to where he can sound out words if you can catch him doing it. Its weird seeing the kids grow by jumps in weeks. It amazes me how fast it seems they pick things up.

Kait is doing quite well, she's my little achiever. She gets good grades, her teachers love her, and she's getting really good at sports already.

They will both be better than I ever was at sports. Instead of weird games like steal the bacon they play football and things like that in phys ed. Seward trains their sports teams young I guess. Good for them I guess.

As for me I'm doing the same nothing I've always done. It works for now. Started a savings account for the kids when they get older. Its something I've wanted to do since I got married. We went into debt because of all the wedding stuff and I always said id put money away so I could help pay for wedding stuff, or whatever they need I suppose.

Anyhow I best get back to workin. Got Dungeons and Dragons tonight so I wanna get off at a reasonable time.

Good day to you.

Shameless plug?

Just a little mini blog update. I've got a big one brewing for sooner or later here but haven't the time during a lunch break to figure it out.

I am loving the new Volbeat song Still Counting. I crank the radio every time it comes on. I would totally pay for the mp3 if I had a computer. I love the music, as well as the concept that I know you an asshole when I see one because we smell our own(no pun intended?)

Nothing major to report. Kids went swimming in the pool this weekend even though the water was bitch-ass cold. Nights are getting a bit nippy for pool weather IMO.

I haven't rode my bike as much as I would like. Every morning is cold and there's always ominous clouds in the sky when I'm thinking about it. Good times will come. Honestly just stoked I got the thing before next year. It was a bit of a surprise I was able to.

Seriously though major post brewing soonish, if I have the balls for it.

Obey the principality.

My son got sent to the principals office yesterday.

Tenth day of kindergarten.

Yeah that's right. Now here's the deal, I'm having a little too much trouble not being a little proud... he punched a kid who made fun of him or called him a name, or so I am told.

While I don't want him to be picking on other kids and I certainly think violence should always be a last resort, I'm still a little glad he's already able to stand up for himself. And maybe some of it is I'm a little impressed that he hits well enough that one shot got him sent to the principals office.

Maybe I'm a bad parent but I taught them both how to throw a good punch. We play the punch game where we pretend to box and I let them hit me in the stomach as hard as they can. I don't really want them to have to punch other kids, but I do want them to be able to do it well enough that if they HAVE to they can get the job done.

And its like prison. You either beat someone up or become someones bitch the first week of school right? Heh. Bet that other kid will think twice before he picks on Alex again.

I'm a terrible person, heh.

I totally wouldn't write this stuff if he could read it.

Thy kingdom come

Welcome blog readers to my latest post.

It has been a very long time but that time has not been uneventful. To update previous posts, no I never learned to program. No I don't work at Valentino's any more.

Also yes I'm divorced now. I had thought of using this as a place to let off steam about all that stuff but I felt it would end up hurting the innocent. She has a girlfriend now. That's all you really need to know. I'm getting past it much better than I expected to be by this point.

Rant: if you are going to post political images on my facebook news feed either vary them or limit yourself to one a day.. I don't need to see 14 reasons obama sucks or is awesome in one day. you might be surprised about who is and is not part of the choir you are preaching to. Both sides are fucking nuts and if you think your side isn't you are either fooling yourself or you are also fucking nuts.

Now that you've got me on politics...
If I were to vote I would vote for Obama. However I will not vote. Wouldn't make a difference. My state is too far right for my drop in the bucket to count. Sorry popular vote, the electoral college rules you obsolete.

"But Joe," you say... "democrats are baby killers." While this is probably true of most politicians, I think voting in a madman because he agrees with me on one issue is quite a bad idea.
And while we are at it, the whole thing with abortion. Its over. Just let it be already. Ethically I am absolutely opposed to abortion. Legally I am opposed to forcing my fucking ethics on someone else. See to me its not so much a womens rights issue(though this swing from the dems seems to be working quite well) as a FREEDOM OF RELIGION issue.  I believe X. You believe Y. We can get along without it coming to making laws to make your beliefs less legal than mine. I don't like abortion so I won't get one or help someone get one. I can control my world without having to control everyone elses.

Same reason I hate militant atheists. But don't get me started there...

Anyhow that's all the time we have for today. Thank you for coming.

Testing the junk.

This is a post just testing the ability of my phone to email blog updates. There is nothing of value in this blod post but it does mean good things are yet to come in the future assuming it actually works this time. Cross your fingers.

the ol' bicentennial posting..

I only update this thing when it's extremely important(read: when I've got a lot of free time and don't feel like playing video games). Now is one of those times.

Friday was my last day at the real job for the winter. Same old deal. It seems like despite the lack of actual wintry weather, it's going to be cold enough to instantly freeze one's nuggets every time one steps forth outside of the domicile. I'd rather have last years piles of snow over the gale wind that cuts the chill through our apartment windows. I turned the drier on today just to warm the place up.

It baffles me how one child can lose multiple entire pairs of gloves in less than a week. At this rate we may need to take out a loan just to keep Kaitlyn in gloves through age 12, upon which time she can get by on her wage at the sweatshop(I'm sure they get a discount on the gloves if they knit them themselves..).

Insurance sucks, and the whole health care system sucks. No don't get me wrong it's not individuals, it's just the whole bloody money sinkhole it's become. I suppose i need to fall off a ladder at work or get a surgery and hope a scrub nurse loses a false nail in my insides so I can get my moneys worth out of the system. It really sucks for those of us who are barely above the level of "gubment pays for your ass", but still below the level of "can afford my cobra payments when I'm on seasonal layoff"...

But I digress..(actually I don't, I just like saying that I do..)

I am somewhat impressed that this form has helped me with a few typos, but does not flag the word "gubment" as being incorrect. well it did that time... what the hell?

Anyway. The winter has just begun, so you may hear from me again before all is said and done, but as per usual don't expect to read my delicious words in a month where you might say "hey the weather has been great all week!"

To my loyal fans: I love you.
